In 2004 the Entomological Society of America created a program where a pest management professional could become further certified. As ACE’s, they have to hold a state pest control license, have at least five years of experience in the field, be able to provide two letters of reference from employers, or customers, and are held to a higher standard of professionalism and a code of ethics provided by the Entomological Society of America, as well as pass a rigorous test over pest identification and management.
The Associate Certified Entomologist program is growing in the pest control industry; here in Missouri there are less than forty. We are fortunate enough to have two Associate Certified Entomologists on staff here at Pesky Critters. They are valuable resources to our office and are quick to jump in when an identification needs to be made.
