General Pest Treatment Prep

We at Pesky Critters strive to perform the best possible pest treatment on your home.  Following this prep sheet will help to speed up control of the targeted pest.  Failure to follow the guidelines below will at minimum hinder our ability to treat effectively and, in some cases, prevent control from ever being realized.

Flea Treatment Preparation

Prep for a General Pest Treatment

  1. Interior of the home
    1. Pick up any floor clutter like children's toys or laundry that is around the perimeter of the rooms to be treated.
    2. Relocate pets to a room that doesn’t need to be treated or to the exterior if possible   (Most chemical requires pets to stay off of it till it dries which is typically 45 minutes)
    3. Pick up pet food bowls off the floor or move them away from the walls 2-3 ft
    4. If you are having pest issues in a closet, move the floor items out of the closet to allow our technician to treat that area.  Closets are not normally treated unless requested.
  2. Exterior of the home
    1. Move any children's toys away from the sides of the house.
    2. Pick up any pet toys that may be lying in the treatment zone
    3. Cover or move any grills or cooktops
    4. Trim shrubs off the side of the home to allow for treatment against the home and prevent pests from using it as a bridge to the house. (8-12 inches is ideal)

After treatment is completed

  1. Do not use any pesticides. These may counteract what our trained technicians have applied and will void any warranty if the treatment performed has one offered.  Reach out to us if there is a persistent pest issue.
  2. Avoid walking barefoot through the treated areas until the application has dried.  This is usually within 45 minutes of treatment.
  3. Rain will not wash away the applied chemical if it has had sufficient time to dry and adhere.  This normally occurs within an hour after treatment.
